How to use this Installation Guide
This document is intended to be used only as a Quick Start Guide, to facilitate safe
and correct installation and initial configuration of your Peak Scientific gas generator.
For more extensive user operation directions, we recommend you download the User
Manual from the website.

before proceeding.

These instructions must be read thoroughly and understood before
installation and operation of your Peak Generator. Use of the
generator in a manner not specified by Peak Scientific MAY impair the
SAFETY provided by the equipment.
When handling, operating or carrying out any maintenance, personnel
must employ safe engineering practices and observe all relevant local
health and safety requirements and regulations. The attention of UK
users is drawn to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and the
Institute of Electrical Engineers regulations.
If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the
manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment may be
impaired.

Unpack the generator from the shipping crate and position on a flat surface, in
desired area.
An Infinity XE 6010 has been used for the purposes of this Installation Guide.
WARNING Ensure all inlets and outlets are connected to correct sources and applications.
All Connections should only be carried out by trained personnel. Generator must be
switched off and unplugged prior to any connection , cleaning or maintenance operations.

Select the 16mm Push Fit Fitting 3301060 from the fittings kit and attach to the Air
Inlet port at the rear of the generator.
Then fit the 6mm Push-Fit Fitting 02-4600 to the Drain port.

Select the Tee Fitting 02-1048 and attach this to the Nitrogen port.
Next, attach the Shut-Off Valve 02-4471 to the vertical female port on the Tee Fitting,
ensuring PTFE tape is used for tight fit.
Finally attach the 12mm Push-Fit Fitting 02-5801 from the fittings kit to the remaining
female port on the Tee Fitting, again ensuring PTFE tape is used.
For units without Dry Air option fitted please proceed to step 5.

If the generator is fitted with the optional Dry Air output, select the 12mm Push-Fit
Fitting 02-5801 from the fittings kit and attach it to the ‘Air’ port on the rear of the
generator.

Connect the 6mm PE Tubing 00-1282 to the ¼”- 6mm Push Fit Fitting 02-4600.
Fit the other end of the tubing to a suitable drain connection or container. The container
MUST NOT have an airtight seal as water and air will be expelled periodically under a slight
pressure.
Attach 3m of 12mm PE Tubing 00-1267 to the fitting attached to the fittings on the
Nitrogen port and connect to the gas inlet of your instrument.
Lastly connect appropriate 16mm tubing (not supplied) to the fitting on the Air Inlet port
and connect the other end to your air supply (ISO 8573-1:2010 Class [1.4.1]).
For units without Dry Air option fitted please proceed to step 7.
6. (Dry Air option only)

Attach 3m of 12mm PE tubing 00-1267 from the fittings kit to the fitting on the Dry Air
output of the generator. Connect the other end to the Air inlet of your instrument.

Select the appropriate mains cable from the fittings kit and plug the IEC 60320/C19
cable into the mains input at the rear of the generator.

CAUTION
Plug the mains cable into the corresponding 100/110/230VAC 50/60Hz single phase
power supply.
CAUTION ensure the correct cable has been selected for your electrical supply.
Consult the Electrical Requirements section if you are unsure of the requirements
of your generator.

Switch the generator power ON using the switch on the rear panel.

The inlet pressure graph on the external HMI of the generator will gradually increase
from 0Psi to the delivered inlet pressure as the system pressurises

Remove the side panel, and set the desired Nitrogen output pressure using
the internal pressure regulator located near the front of the generator. View
the external outlet pressure reading on the HMI when setting the pressure.
For units without Dry Air option fitted please replace the side panel after the
regulator has been set and proceed to step 13.
12. (Dry Air option only)
Set the desired Air output pressure using the internal pressure regulator located
near the rear of the generator. View the external outlet pressure reading on the HMI
when setting the pressure. Replace the side panel after the regulator has been set.

General Notes
Electrical requirements for 230V generators are 195V - 253V 50/60Hz. For 195V
- 219V a 06-3200 Dual Tap Transformer is required.
