Scope
The purpose of this document is to provide sufficient notice of the pending discontinuation of Peak
product(s), to advise on timelines for availability and remaining order fulfilment and to advise of new or
alternative Peak products that may be suitable replacement for the discontinued product(s).

Context
Faced with significant increases in material and production costs, increasingly limited availability of
specific components and/or changes to suitable market fit for this particular product, Peak has had to
take a business decision to plan towards manufacturing discontinuation of the Corona Air Compressor
(both 230V &110V models). The product has not been commercially viable in its current form for some
time and this situation has deteriorated over the past 12 months. There is a more efficient and
costeffective product solution that can match customer requirement more elegantly, which we are
bringing to market imminently.
This alternative product is in the final stages of development (Corona 1010A). This will be futureproofed
with multiple benefits to Thermo’s customers.

Corona 1010A

The new product, named Corona 1010A, will supply the same gas output as the original Corona 1010 N2
generator which came with the option of a separate Corona Air Compressor. The benefits of the new
solution, with the air compressor being fully integrated within the system, is that only a single part
number will require to be ordered, it is smaller in size than the combined 2-unit stack currently
provided, and as a result will reduce shipping costs also. The Corona 1010 N2 generator (without air
compressor) will continue to be available for customers who do not need a standalone supply of
pressurized air to supply the N2 generator (eg. those with ’house air’ supply in the laboratory already).
Only the separate Corona Air Compressor units are being discontinued.

Last Quotation/ Order Date
We are planning to discontinue (halting production thereof) the Corona Air Compressor products on
April 30st 2023, with a last order date of March 31st 2023. Thereafter these products will be
discontinued, and the manufacturing of these products will cease.

Service and Support
Peak Scientific will offer full service and support for these discontinued products for a minimum period
of 5 years.
